The manual aims to help those responsible for the design and implementation of land-based carbon projects to monitor the ways in which their projects affect the local biodiversity and the livelihoods of the people living in and around a project site. The main objective of the manual is to help project proponents implement cost-effective social and biodiversity impact assessments to meet international standards (e.g., Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards) to make the projects more successful and sustainable.
