In 2015, we have witnessed the adoption of a number of international climate agreements that paved the way for increased flows of finance for green growth. However, the speed and scale of tangible use of these available finance remains to be low. Public and private financing mechanisms should be influenced to focus on provision of climate funds. There is a need to address the disconnect between project developers and potential investors through simplification and harmonization of application procedures in accessing climate funds as well as in the provision of technical assistance in project design and climate finance options. CDKN believes that the focus now should be on building capacities to access available climate finance in order to urgently delivery actions that are in line with national strategies for inclusive development as defined in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of countries.
