July 2014: The 'Chair's Summary' of the tenth meeting of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) Carbon Fund (C10) by Duncan Marsh, C10 Chair, has been released highlighting the selection of Chile and Viet Nam into the Carbon Fund pipeline. The Republic of the Congo, which also presented its Emission Reductions Program Idea Note (ER-PIN), was provisionally selected. The meeting also considered methodological issues related to buffers and a registry of transactions, and in particular, approved an approach for developing guidelines for buffers and a risk assessment tool.
According to the Chair's Summary, significant discussion focused on the pricing approach from REDD+. In statements, Costa Rica, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ghana, Mexico and Nepal called for different carbon prices to reflect the diversity of country programmes and circumstances. Participants then called for the submission of further views and expectations on the carbon pricing model.
