Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development is organized by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)
The United Nations General Assembly has established the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development to provide political leadership and to enhance integration of the three dimensions of sustainable development. Regional perspectives have been recognized as a key to the preparatory process for the HLPF. The inaugural Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the HLPF will be convened with a long-term vision of an inter-governmental process that is strengthened by UN system coordination and collaboration, constructive and inclusive stakeholder engagement, credible assessments of progress, and an effective science-policy interface.
