The Asia LEDS Partnership (ALP) is proud to announce the launch of the ALP Online Training Curricula at http://www.asialeds.org/training-page! The curricula were developed by the ALP in response to members’ requests to have access to current and concise guidance in one location for LEDS practitioners working in Asia. These curricula comprise a synthesis of freely available online materials from a wide range of source organizations, with attention given to selecting training resources that help to answer key questions on “how to” advance LEDS action in Asia.
The online curricula are organized into three tracks:
- Track 1: Overview of LEDS and the LEDS Process;
- Track 2: Low Emission Energy Planning; and
- Track 3: Low Emission Land Use Planning.
Track 1 is the first curriculum available, and provides training on: organizing the LEDS process (section 1); assessing the current situation (section 2); analyzing and prioritizing options (section 3); implementing LEDS (section 4); monitoring LEDS (section 5); and other resources (section 6).
The curricula allow users to search for training resources based on target audience, level of difficulty, resource type, source organization, and/or key word. Training resources included are: webinars, e-learning modules, PowerPoint presentations, guidebooks, and supplementary materials. Appropriate audiences for training include: planners, policymakers, and implementers at the national and subnational levels; technical analysts, modelers, and researchers; businesses, project developers, and financial institutions.
