The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will convene the second session of the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development for soliciting Asia-Pacific regional input to the High-Level Political Forum on Sustationable Development 2015. The theme of this year's session is "Strengthening integration, implementation, and review for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific."
The forum aims to strengthen the instituational framework for sustainable development at the regional level and will engage member States, United Nations, and other institutions on three key issues:
- practical approaches for integration of the three dimensions of sustainable development;
- the potential for a regional monitoring and accountabaility framework; and
- the form and function of the Forum beyond 2015.
