The new Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) Working Group under the LEDS Global Partnership is holding its next meeting on 7 May 2014 from 9:00am to 16:00 pm in the Maluku Room of the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting aims accommodate the large number of members and potential members attending the Forests Asia Conference on 5-6 May in the same city.
The AFOLU Working Group aims to facilitate knowledge sharing among communities of practice on climate-resilient, low-emission development strategies in the agriculture, forestry and other land use sectors through a landscape approach. Since the first meeting at the Asia LEDS Forum 2013, a small group of volunteers – consisting of CIFOR, ICRAF, USAID LEAF program, USAID LEAD program, the US Forest Service, and UN University – has met periodically via teleconference to advance the Working Group.
If you are interested in attending the meeting in Jakarta or being involved in the AFOLU planning committee, please contact Geoffrey Blate (email@example.com), Christopher Martius (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Rodel Lasco (email@example.com).
The inaugural meeting of the AFOLU Working Group took place on October 2, 2013 at the Asia Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) Forum 2013 in Manila, Philippines.
